Improved social sharing

First, have you ever shared your Lucidpress document to social media? It worked... but the generic, automatic post still left something to be desired. That's why our engineering team revamped the entire social media feature, making it easier to customize your posts before they go out.

Improved social sharing in Lucidpress

You can share your Lucidpress documents directly to these social media networks without ever leaving the editor:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Twitter
  • Buffer

Did you catch that last item in the list? We're pretty excited about it, too. Using our Buffer integration, you can queue up social media posts for your linked accounts over there. Pretty neat, right?

When you choose to share your Lucidpress document to social media, you can preview what your post will look like before it goes live. Select which page you'd like the image to be, and write a custom description along with a link to your document. When you're happy with your post, send it—then sit back and wait for the likes to roll in.

External data import

A while back, we rolled out a special feature for our real estate users called REDI (Real Estate Data Import). This feature made it easy for users to pull in property data from sites like Zillow, so they could automatically fill out flyers, postcards, and more. The results are in—turns out, people love to save time. So we thought to ourselves: Why not roll this out for everyone to enjoy?

Enter data import. (Or, should we say, EDI?)

No more will you have to copy and paste information from a spreadsheet to your Lucidpress document—nuh uh. Instead, use data import to autofill documents like employee directories, sales proposals, customized contracts and more.

How does it work? We're so glad you asked.

1. Prepare your documents. Data import works by using smart fields to auto-populate information from an external source (like a spreadsheet). So the first thing you have to do is set up smart fields in your document. (Get more info on how to do that in this guide to using smart fields.)

2. Import your data source. This works best if you can download your data as a CSV or Excel file. Make sure your data is organized and easy to understand, because that'll come in handy during the next step...

3. Match the data to your smart fields. In the editor, Lucidpress will guide you on matching the columns in your spreadsheet to the smart fields in your document. Once you've figured that out, you can sit back and watch your document magically autofill itself. It's a pretty cool party trick.

You can read more about how data import works in this Help Center guide. It's written for real estate, but don't worry—the instructions will work for you, too.
